Part of an existing relationship with AWS, the latest Noggin 2.0 zone launch ensures data sovereignty for customers in the United Arab Emirates
SYDNEY, Australia, 4 April 2024 - Recently recognized as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Critical Event Management Platforms, Q4 2023 Report, Noggin, a global industry leader in integrated resilience management technology, today announced that its next-generation, Noggin 2.0 integrated resilience management platform is now available in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Middle East (UAE) region, in addition to the other generally available Noggin 2.0 zones around the world.
Noggin 2.0 is the world's leading integrated resilience workspace for risk and business continuity management, operational resilience, incident & crisis management, and security & safety operations. The AWS Middle East (UAE) Region is AWS’s second Region in the Middle East which provides developers, startups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, as well as government, education, and nonprofit organizations even greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from data centers located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), using advanced AWS technologies to drive innovation.
The Region itself consists of three Availability Zones. Availability Zones are in separate and distinct geographic locations with enough distance to reduce the risk of a single event affecting the availability of the Region but near enough for business continuity for applications that require rapid failover and synchronous replication. This gives customers like Noggin the ability to operate production applications that are more highly available, more fault-tolerant, and more scalable than would be possible from a single data center.
“We know that data sovereignty is critical for our customers in the UAE,” said Owen Prime, Noggin CTO/CSO. “We are, therefore, thrilled to be better supporting them by hosting Noggin 2.0 in the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region. Providing a Noggin 2.0 zone in the UAE enables our in-region customers to combine the power of the Noggin 2.0 platform with the scale and reliability of AWS without needing to manage their own infrastructure, all the while maintaining the highest standard of security and privacy obligations.”
The launch of the latest Noggin 2.0 zone is part of an existing relationship with AWS. The Noggin 2.0 platform is itself architected using a distributed microservices approach: Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) and AWS Lambda for the compute, and Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
“Our Middle East customers understand the value of our relationship with AWS,” continued Prime. “AWS Auto Scaling enables us to instantly scale horizontally as demand grows and back down again when demand eventually reduces. The architecture gives us the ability to pull together tons of relevant content, add it to our library, and release it to our customers immediately.”
Available as of March 20, 2024, the new Noggin 2.0 UAE zone gives local customers more choice and flexibility to leverage advanced cloud technologies and the ability to run their workloads and store data locally while serving end users with even lower latency.
